One of the first pieces of advice a beginning collector of ancient coins will receive is to specialize. As sound as that advice may be, it doesn't preclude some false starts, nor should it forbid sometimes buying coins that don't fit.
My original site documents my specialized collections. This site, very much a work in progress, will instead concentrate on some odds and ends, collections that never caught fire, collections I can't afford to pursue, and coins I just like.
The Owls of Athens - What could be more fitting?
The Shields of Probus - Military busts with interesting details
The Bulls of Julian II - Swim against the tide, drown. Predictable.
An Achaemenid Siglos - with a remarkable countermark.
Barbarous Imitatives - Illiterate engravers copying worn coins
A Few Brockages - Oops
